One way to safeguard oneself from these hazards is incorporation of naturally occurring antioxidants in daily diet that provide nutrition besides being a reservoir of numerous health promoting phytochemicals. Methanolic Extract of fenugreek seeds were evaluated for total phenolics content, antioxidant activity using various assay systems such as iron(III) reduction, inhibition of hydroxyl radical-mediated 2-deoxy-D-ribose degradation, metal ion (Fe2+) chelation assay and DPPH radical scavenging assay. The results indicate that fenugreek is a very efficient antioxidant.
