Abstract: The present investigation is aimed to find out the efficacy of Mucuna pruriens supplemented feeds on the management of vibriosis in lab condition. The antimicrobial activity of alcoholic extract of Mucuna pruriens (AEMP) seeds was determined by disc diffusion method with various gram positive and gram negative bacteria. The strongest antibacterial effect was observed in the methanol extract of Mucuna pruriens seeds against Vibrio harveyi (16.8 mm inhibition zone) and Vibrio cholera (9.4 mm inhibition zone) followed by Escherichia coli (4.1 mm inhibition zone) and Staphylococcus aureus (3.4 mm inhibition zone). Broth dilution method was used to estimate Minimum inhibition concentration (MIC) against selective pathogens. The results suggest that the methanol extract of Mucuna pruriens seed phytochemicals has an antibacterial effect may be used along with feed to manage the Vibriosis.
