Abstract: Diabetes is now most common disease in all age groups. Due to diabetes several other problems in the body initiate like renal disorder, eye sight problem etc. Though several drugs and insulin like allopathic medicine are available which though reduce blood sugar level but in turn provide several side effects? Herbal drugs prove to be a better alternative this regards. Several researches on herbal drugs have been carried out using various plant substances to reduce sugar level. A review of such studies is presented in the paper.
